How To Create A Low Maintenance Garden

A garden can not compete in convenience with ready product markets and fruit stands. However, having a garden is a great way to see where your products and what chemicals are used, and if used.

Do not have time or would you rather use something else, follow these tips for a low maintenance garden. Remember that even these gardens require some work. Although it is possible that you benefit from it without too much trouble, so using some of these tip.

1. Please note the size of your garden. When we talk about gardening, garden size is directly related to the amount of work you should do.
* The small gardens are more manageable than larger ones. Preparation, control pests and weeds, watering and harvesting, can be time consuming and stop being a pleasure to become an obligation
* You can choose to have a container garden. When you plant in containers, reduce the amount of work it takes to water, as the pot does not need much water. It is also easier to control weeds. You can place the pots inside or outside the house and a comfortable working height.

2. Give your garden you need to grow well from the beginning. If you take a little work to start giving your garden a good location and the right conditions, in the end we'll grow with little effort on your part.
* Choose a location for your garden plants. The sun is necessary to grow, but too much sun and if the burn is very little growth is inhibited.
* Plant in good soil. When we eat good food, we're healthier. With plants is the same, and the ground is where they get their nutrients. Mix fertilizer, manure or nutrient rich soil in your beds or seedlings. Also make sure that the site has good drainage, as too much water rots the plants.
* Irrigation simple. Instead of going out every evening watering with a hose, install an irrigation system. Add a hose or irrigation pipe and leave them in place in the garden. You only have to open and close the tap when watering. Make it even easier with a timer that opens and closes automatically tap.

3. Design your garden to make it easy to maintain.
* Divide rows into sections of approximately 4 feet (1.2 m) wide. Thus you can easily irrigate, remove weeds, and harvest without having to go through the plants.
* The paths of straw or stone, surrounding each sector, will help you walk through your garden comfortably while preventing weed growth.

4. Select strong plants and seeds. When you have strong plants and take care of properly, you benefit from better growth and better harvest.

5. Facilitates the removal of weeds
* Take the herbs often, although it seems more work really is not. It is easier to remove some small herbs to remove a bush if you let them grow too.
* Prepare mulch in your beds with hay, straw, newspaper or a commercial herbicide to reduce or prevent weed growth.

6. Protect your garden from predators such as insects and wildlife. You can prevent it in advance or wait and see if there are predators and act upon
* Banish pests such as rabbits or deer by placing a wire mesh on the perimeter. If you plant perennial mint will help to repel rabbits and rodents.
* Spread natural pesticides or purchased to avoid bugs. Select them carefully to avoid killing insects that are good for your garden.
* Try using natural methods. The marigolds repel rabbits and deer, while garlic banishes invasive insects. If you mix 1 tbsp. (14.8 ml) canola oil, 1 tbsp. (5 ml) of liquid dishwashing detergent, and 1 quart (4 cups) of water for spraying the leaves.

7. Involve more people each work less.
* Start a community garden with friends and neighbors in a neutral location, uniting their efforts, time and energy.
* Work with family members to begin the garden and then delegating daily maintenance.
